Koyo Konishi

Koyo Konishi is a Senior Paralegal with Yorozu Law Group with more than 8 years of experience. He plays a key role in supporting the attorneys in the Corporate Transaction, Employment Law, and Estate Planning and Administration practices by handling the day-to-day communication (in both Japanese and English) with clients and managing technical and logistical tasks.

In the Corporate Transaction practice, Mr. Konishi handles numerous corporate projects including: incorporation, foreign corporation qualification, corporate maintenance, mergers, acquisitions, surrender of charter, and dissolution. He coordinates with US and Japanese government agencies on behalf of clients for various applications, registrations, renewals, and surrender of certificates, permits, and licenses.

In the Employment Law practice, he assists the attorneys in all phases of employment practice including hiring, promotion/demotion, termination, reasonable accommodation, and workplace harassment prevention. His liaison skills help Japanese speaking employers to understand complex legal advice of the attorneys for prevention and litigation matters.

In the Estate Planning and Administration practice, he assists the attorneys in client communication as well as research in necessary processes in Japan. He was instrumental in assisting Japan-based clients execute and notarize affidavits to complete California probate cases.

Mr. Konishi has co-presented seminars in Japanese with attorneys including “US Employment Law for Executives/How to Manage Problematic Employees,” “Effective Estate Planning for International Couples/What Happens If You Don’t Have an Estate Plan?“ and “Sexual Harassment Training for Managers.”

He also acts as an interpreter and liaison for Japanese businesses and individuals in a wide variety of transactions and civil and criminal court proceedings. To maintain the high quality of service that our clients have become accustomed to, he also directly trains the junior paralegals in our firm.
