Tasha Yorozu and the 2016 U.S.-Japan Council Japanese American Leadership Delegation were privileged to spend an enjoyable evening as the dinner guests of Minister Taro Kono (now Foreign Minister), socializing and building stronger relationships between the delegation and Minister Kono’s colleagues from the National Diet. Conversations revolved around Abenomics, national security, issues with North Korea and China, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, issues of culture, and common personal issues. After dinner, the delegates were treated to a fun tradition of karaoke hosted and led by Minister Kono.
